Potential: Anthony Joshua to the UFC

Is Anthony Joshua going to the UFC? (It is a possibility)

Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs) is Heavyweight Boxing's biggest superstar today. On March 31st, he will be facing New Zealander Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs) in Cardiff, Wales. 

Fast Facts:

  • Dana White intends on being at the fight March 31st
  • White has not only shown interest in bringing Joshua to the UFC but further promoting Joshua throughout his boxing career.
  • Joshua only has one year left on his contract with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Promotions:
    •  Joshua claims that he is committed to staying with the promotion and on Showtime as this make a Joshua-Wilder bout much easier to book.
  • -Joshua earns between $10 - $20 million per fight, under Dana's promotion, he can earn about $50 million per fight.

According to The Telegraph:

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is making an audacious bid to sign a promotional multi-fight deal with Anthony Joshua which could earn the Londoner $500 million (£353 million) and make him the richest British boxer of all time.

Joshua has become boxing’s biggest star and The Daily Telegraph understands Dana White, the UFC president, will attend his title fight with Joseph Parker in Cardiff on Saturday week and plans to meet with the 28-year-old and his team.

The capture of Joshua would immediately make the UFC key players and it is thought the Briton could earn $50 million (£35 million) per fight if he switched to them, with the prospect of a multi-fight deal taking him to over $500 million in earnings.

In Conclusion:

Can we see Anthony Joshua in the UFC? Ngannou-Joshua anyone? For now, one thing is for sure: Dana White is prepared to shake up the Boxing world and Anthony Joshua is just what he needs.
